A Rainy Night Town Hall
As a member of Student Council’s External Affairs committee, I helped organize a student town hall that took place on Tuesday, November 18, just before the weekly Student Council meeting.

In the weeks leading up to the event, our committee worked together to create a space for open conversation between Student Council representatives and the broader student body. We set up the town hall with plenty of Mellow Mushroom pizza and Insomnia Cookies, hoping to make the atmosphere welcoming and informal.
Although the rain kept turnout lower than expected, the evening still felt worthwhile. The conversations that did take place were thoughtful, honest, and unhurried. Without a packed room or rigid structure, the town hall became a mix of productive discussion and casual dialogue, with students, representatives, and council members talking openly about concerns, ideas, and campus life.
Sometimes the most meaningful engagement happens in smaller settings. That night reminded me that even modest gatherings can create space for connection when the focus is simply on listening and showing up.
