A Snow Day and LOTL
The day of LOTL began with an unexpected gift: overnight snow that turned Charlottesville into a winter landscape and brought class cancellations with it.

I woke to a quiet, snow-covered Grounds on December 5th and spent the morning sledding with friends from the IRC down the hill beside Shannon Library toward the nameless field. It was one of those rare moments where time slows just enough to enjoy the setting before the semester’s pace returns.
Most of the day was spent back at the A-School, deep in model making as studio deadlines approached. Even in the middle of the final push, I made a point to step away that evening. The night began at a reception at the Fralin Museum honoring volunteer docents before meeting up with others from the A-School for LOTL.
We ended up near the front for the entire event. Despite low-hanging clouds interrupting the drone show finale, the night stayed lively and warm longer than expected, and I somehow managed to avoid most of the mud that formed as the crowd thinned. Afterward, I returned to the A-School for a late night of 3D printing and model work, carrying the energy of the day into the early morning.
It wasn’t just a celebration or a break from work, but a reminder of how moments of pause and intensity can coexist, sometimes within the same day.
